A 19-year-old is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and trespassing at a school with a weapon.According to the affidavit, it all started when the teen was denied a ride to GameStop. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly says the ordeal ultimately spilled over to Flagler-Palm Coast High School. But it started at an apartment complex not far from the school. “Take me to the GameStop store. That’s usually not something that you pull knives on people for,” Staly said. According to the arrest report, 19-year-old James Colasanti asked someone he lived with to give him a ride. When they said no, “He decided to pull out two knives,” Staly said. “One in each hand and threaten(ed) to kill them.”Someone was able to get the knives away from him. But according to the report, James grabbed a seven-inch knife from the kitchen and threw it at one of the people he was arguing with. He then took off, jumping a fence at Flagler Palm Coast High. “We didn’t know what kind of state of mind this guy was in,” Staly said. “And we knew he was on school grounds and we had summer school in session. So you handle it as an armed intruder at a school at that point.”The school went on lockdown and there was a school resource officer on campus at the time. The sheriff says their real-time crime center was able to tap into the cameras on campus as officers searched for Colasanti. They found him in what looked like a storage trailer on the campus. He was armed when officers found him.
